FAQ's

What is Chlorine Dioxide?
Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is a non-toxic antimicrobial agent for effectively eliminating germs, including bacteria, virus, fungi, and other harmful and odor-causing microorganisms. In general, it is a powerful disinfectant, oxidant and sanitizing agent. Chlorine dioxide has been used globally for decades as a disinfectant to make water safe for drinking, as well as, eliminating odors.

What is Titanium Dioxide?
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a naturally occurring mineral that is mined from the earth, processed and refined, and added to a variety of FDA approved foods and consumer products including, cosmetics, toothpaste, soap, and water treatment agents. It has been shown effective against a wide range of microorganisms including fungi, bacteria, and viruses. When exposed to ultraviolet light, TIO2 breaks down water vapor in the air to produce free oxygen radicals that will attack whatever is on the surface.

What is the D-Viral Difference?
D-ViralTM air and multi-surface cleaner and deodorizers are a non-toxic and safe way to help keep your air and physical surroundings clean and odor free—whether at home, work, school, or on the go. This is an important way to prevent infection and other diseases 24/7/365. D-Viral Multi-Surface products are comprised of two powerful ingredients, Chlorine Dioxide CLO2 and Titanium Dioxide TIO2. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), cleaning surfaces regularly is essential to prevent the spread of illness. The CDC also recognizes that air pollution is one of the most significant environmental challenges that affects our health. A growing body of scientific evidence indicates that the air within homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air. Our Air Sanitizer with CLO2 is the perfect defense for eliminating odors from pets and other common household odors, covers up to 400 square feet, and lasts up to 60 days before refill.

How Do I know D-Viral Works?
We perform tests on treated, hi-touch/traffic surfaces. We perform the test by a swab method, based on AMP-ATP markers. The presence of bacteria on the surface is determined on the basis of a bioluminescent ATP test, based on the measuring of the amount of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) contained in all living cells or their parts as well as in microorganisms, where it serves as a source of energy. The amount of ATP present is thus directly proportional to the amount of microbial contamination.

By the wet smear, we obtain the amount of ATP that signals the extent of contamination by microorganisms and organic substances. The obtained ATP is then applied to a special ampule containing a lucipherin solution, where, in the presence of magnesium ions and oxygen, it quickly (in approx. 10 seconds) reacts with the lucipherin enzyme. Thus, light is created, which can be measured by a sensitive meter. The intensity of the emitted light is expressed in relative light units, called RLU, and is directly proportional to the amount of ATP in the sample, thus signaling the extent of possible biological contamination.

Are D-Viral Products Safe for the Environment?
Chlorine dioxide has been an approved for many different applications including water and food treatment. Chlorine dioxide has been used globally for decades as a disinfectant to make water safe for drinking, as well as, eliminating odors. Studies have shown that chlorine dioxide disinfection poses no significant risk to human or animals. The FDA has assessed the safety of titanium dioxide pigment as a color additive in food, drug and cosmetic applications, and as an ingredient in sunscreen products. Titanium dioxide has been approved for use in Europe for a century, with studies repeatedly showing no harmful effects to the public or workers.
